Letter from C.W. Leadbeater to Annie Besant
about the Healing Service.
Note explaining the influence of Mr. James Hickson.
Mr. James Hickson was a lay member of the Church of England reputed to have considerable curative powers. He gained admission to healing services in his Church, and attracted un number of Liberal Catholics in England.
In 1923, Mr. Hickson was on a "Healing Mission" in Sydney and, in the first weeks of his Ministry attracted also a considerable number of the members of the Liberal Catholic Church. However, after a while these members claimed to be disappointed, and asked for the help of Bishop Leadbeater, who responded by scheduling regular Healing Services at the Church of Saint Alban in Sydney, according to the Ritual of the Liberal Catholic Church.
