Office of the Presiding Bishop
As the term of office of Bishop Johannes van Alphen as Presiding Bishop comes to an end in April 2000, bishops have been invited to submit nominations for the next Presiding Bishop.

New Bishop for Great Britain & Ireland
The General Episcopal Synod has elected the Very Reverend Graham Sidney Wale, Vicar General of the Province of Great Britain and Ireland, to the Episcopacy in accordance with Para 16 of the General Constitution of the Church. Upon his consecration, Bishop Elect Graham Wale will be appointed Auxiliary Bishop and Episcopal Vicar General for the Province of Great Britain and Ireland. He has also agreed to retain his appointment as Secretary to the General Episcopal Synod. The consecration is to be held on Saturday, 15th April 2000, at 10:30 at the Church of St Francis of Assisi, Tekels Park, Camberley, Surrey. A block booking for accommodation has been made in the Vegetarian Guesthouse of the Theosophical Society, a short walk away from the Church. The co-ordinator for this event is the Right Reverend Graham Wale.
